Ülkü YILMAZ, Malatya Turgut Özal Üniversitesi Mühendislik ve Doğa Bilimleri Fakültesi Mühendislik Temel Bilimleri Bölümü'nde Profesör olarak görev yapmaktadır. 2008 yılında İnönü Üniversitesi'nde Organik Kimya alanında doktora derecesini aldı. Araştırma alanları organik sentez, kataliz, çapraz bağlanma reaksiyonları, mikrodalga sentezi, organometalik kimya, biyoaktif heterosiklik bileşiklerdir. Prof. YILMAZ'ın bu alanlarda çalışmaları bulunmaktadır.
